Age & Consent Policy

Age & Consent Policy

At ARC Piercing Studio, your safety, wellbeing and long-term results are our priority.

Whilst there is no single UK law that sets minimum ages for most body piercings, ARC operates its own age and consent policy based on anatomy, healing, maturity and best practice. These standards help ensure every client receives a safe and positive experience.

Identification

All clients may be asked to provide valid photographic identification to confirm their age.

Accepted forms of ID include:

  • Passport

  • UK Driving Licence or Provisional Licence

  • CitizenCard or PASS-approved ID

  • Other government-issued photographic identification

Where a parent or legal guardian is required, they must also provide valid photo ID.

Parent & Guardian Consent

Clients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian throughout the appointment.

The parent or guardian must:

  • Attend the consultation and piercing appointment.

  • Present valid photographic identification.

  • Complete and sign the ARC consent form.

  • Remain on the premises for the duration of the appointment.

Friends, siblings, grandparents or other relatives cannot provide consent unless they are the client's legal guardian.

Anatomy Assessment

Every client will receive an individual anatomy assessment before any piercing is carried out.

Some piercings are not suitable for everyone. If we believe a piercing is unlikely to heal successfully or safely due to your anatomy, we will explain why and recommend an alternative where appropriate.

Right to Refuse Treatment

ARC Piercing Studio reserves the right to refuse or postpone any piercing if we believe it is not in the client's best interests.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Unsuitable anatomy.

  • Insufficient identification.

  • Parent or guardian not present where required.

  • Client appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • Pregnancy (for selected piercings).

  • Certain medical conditions or medications that may affect healing.

  • Poor understanding of aftercare requirements.

  • Excessive anxiety or inability to give informed consent.

  • Any situation where we believe treatment would be unsafe.

Our decision is always made with client safety as the priority.

Jewellery & Healing

All initial piercings at ARC are performed using high-quality implant-grade titanium jewellery unless otherwise advised.

Healing times vary depending on the piercing location, aftercare and individual healing response. Following the aftercare advice provided is essential for the best possible result.

Our Commitment

At ARC, we believe that every piercing should be carried out safely, professionally and with care.

Our policies are designed to protect our clients, support informed decisions and ensure every piercing has the greatest opportunity to heal successfully.
